Diet not working….?

Its often not what you are eating...

Many clients I see are eating good healthy diets but are still not losing weight. They often feel that people don't believe that this can be true - it usually is! Often our bodies need more help to lose weight than just eating healthily and taking some of the standard supplements recommended by healthy eating regimes.

You are unique!

What helps one person lose weight, may not be right for you. I do not follow a standard program or diet to help people lose weight. My approach is to test you as an individual to see what your body needs. Contributory factors to weight loss may include:
  • Imbalanced blood sugar levels
  • Food allergies or sensitivities
  • Nutrient deficiencies (I test these very specifically - it is important not just to supplement zinc, for example, but the specific type of zinc in the right quantities - eg 20mg of zinc picolinate per day)
  • Toxic fat - this can be toxic chemicals, metals or infectionse. If the body cannot deal with something and get it out of the body it will store it in fat cells. Unless the body is given the right help to process the toxic fat and excrete the toxins out of the body then it will not go near it and the fat will stay where it is.
  • Adrenal fatigue - this is often linked with fat stored around the waist
  • Hormonal imbalances - this is often linked with fat stored around the thighs and bust
  • Strucutural issues - even a simple backache can have a huge affect on the functioning of the nervous system
  • Emotional issues - emotional issues may affect either the subconscious approach to food (conscious you want to eat heathily but your subconscious mind is sabotaging you with out you realising) or sometimes traumatic events can cause physical issues within the body
I also test people to see which body type they are. In general people fall into one of two categories. They are either a 'protein type' that does well on meat and other forms of protein but not so well on starchy carbohyrdates such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes or a 'carbohydrate type' that does not do well on meat but does well on starchy carbohydrates. 'Protein  types' often have weight problems, often linked with blood sugar issues, thyroid, cholesterol or high blood pressure health problems. 'Carbohydrate types' often have atopic conditions such as asthma, eczema or hayfever or other allergies/sensitivities.

Get healthy at the same time!

I view weight gain as a symptom of ill-health and my approach is to deal with both at the same time. As we get you eating right for your body type and start addressing your health issues then the weight loss will follow.
