The Living History group was formed in 1996, initially to record more recent events and personalities associated with Castle Cary and Ansford. 

The photographs, reminiscences and anecdotes of local people represent a major element of the body of material we have collected and these formed the basis of our first two publications - "Memories of Castle Cary and Ansford" and "Castle Cary and Ansford - Time to Reflect".

The group has staged a variety of events in the town, including a major exhibition of photographs as part of the Millennium celebrations (pictured right).

The group is also open to new members and meets frequently on an informal basis.

The preparation of material for publication is a major activity in which members are encouraged to participate.
